Karl Britton

Karl William Britton (1909-1983) was a British philosopher who held positions at Clare College Cambridge, Harvard University, and universities in Aberystwyth, Swansea and Newcastle upon Tyne. His career-long focus was the philosophy of John Stuart Mill, on whom he published a 1953 book long regarded as the standard student text, alongside interests in logic, epistemology, moral philosophy and philosophy of language.
