Antonio Caso lived from 1883 to 1946 and was a Mexican philosopher born in Mexico City who served as rector of the Universidad Nacional de Mexico, now the National Autonomous University of Mexico, from December 1921 to August 1923. He co-founded an intellectual movement opposing positivism that shaped later Mexican philosophical thought, developing a framework that distinguished economic, aesthetic and moral aspects of human existence.
