Anukul Chandra Mukherjee

Anukul Chandra Mukherjee (1888 to 1968) was an Indian academic and professor of philosophy at Allahabad University. He wrote on the philosophy of Immanuel Kant and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, on psychologists such as William James and John B. Watson, and on the Advaita Vedanta of Adi Shankara, applying Western methodology and language to his study of self, thought and reality. He authored the books Self, Thought, and Reality and The Nature of Self, and received the Padma Bhushan in 1964 for his contributions to education and literature.
