Kazim Azimov Agamirza, born on February 10, 1951, in Astara in what was then the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, is an Azerbaijani historian of philosophy, culture and sociology, and an Orientalist specializing in the history of ancient and medieval philosophy of the Middle East and Azerbaijan. He received a doctorate of sciences in philosophy in 1989 and became a professor in 1991.
