Clare Mac Cumhaill is an Irish philosopher and historian who lectures at Durham University. With Rachael Wiseman she co-authored Metaphysical Animals, published in 2022, a study of the women philosophers Elizabeth Anscombe, Philippa Foot, Mary Midgley, and Iris Murdoch at Oxford, for which she won the 2022 HWA Non-Fiction Crown Award and was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography. She has also published on Iris Murdoch's philosophy of goodness.
