Philosophers of the philosophy of language subcategory who belong to the analytic tradition, which treats philosophy as the clarification of concepts and arguments, often with the tools of formal logic and the study of language, and which has dominated English-speaking philosophy since the early twentieth century. This group gathers the thinkers of the atlas whose own cited articles place them in that tradition, so that the subcategory can be browsed by school of thought rather than by date. Membership comes from each philosopher's cited article, through its infobox, page categories or opening sentences.
