Pavel Florensky

Pavel Florensky was a Russian Orthodox theologian, priest, philosopher, mathematician, physicist, electrical engineer and inventor whose work spanned faith and the sciences in a single body of thought. He was killed in the Soviet purges of 1937, and he is remembered within the Russian Orthodox Church as a neomartyr and, informally, a folk saint, although the Church has stated that no formal decision on his canonization has been made.
