African Political Thought

Political philosophers of the African and Pan-African tradition concerned with self-determination, communitarian personhood and the political legacy of colonialism, including the architects of Pan-Africanism and African socialist thought, philosophers of African communitarianism grounded in indigenous personhood theories, philosophers working within the Wolof and other African intellectual traditions, and African American and diaspora political philosophers whose own work extends this same Pan-African and communitarian lineage, including phenomenological, existentialist and cosmopolitan strands of contemporary African and Africana political thought.
