German philosopher and philologist (1844 to 1900) whose critique of traditional morality and metaphysics, developed across Thus Spoke Zarathustra (1883 to 1885), Beyond Good and Evil (1886) and On the Genealogy of Morals (1887), introduced the will to power, the eternal recurrence and the Ubermensch, and diagnosed Christian and Enlightenment morality alike as expressions of a slave morality born of resentment. One of the most significant absences the Ethics and Metaphysics branches held before this mint.

Nietzsche is widely read as a formative precursor of existentialism through his emphasis on self-created value in the absence of any given cosmic order, though the atlas records Simone de Beauvoir, not Nietzsche, as Existentialism's founder on record.
