Arthur Prior

Arthur Norman Prior, usually cited as A.N. Prior, was a New Zealand-born logician and philosopher who founded tense logic, also known as temporal logic, in his 1957 work and went on to make significant contributions to intensional logic, particularly in his 1971 book. His formal treatment of how tense and time interact with logical inference opened a field that later logicians and philosophers of language continued to develop long after his death.
