Eleutherius Winance (1909-2009) was a Belgian-born Benedictine monk and philosophy professor who taught for 38 years at Claremont Graduate University. The last surviving founder of St. Andrew's Abbey in Valyermo, California, he also published The Communist Persuasion, a 1958 account of his own experience of brainwashing during China's communist revolution.
