Kristin Gjesdal

Kristin Gjesdal is a Norwegian philosopher and professor of philosophy at Temple University, known for her work on hermeneutics, nineteenth-century philosophy, and aesthetics. She earned her doctorate from the University of Oslo in 2002, is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, and serves on the editorial board of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Her books include Herder's Hermeneutic Philosophy, Gadamer and the Legacy of German Idealism, and Women Philosophers in the Long Nineteenth Century.
