Matthaios Kamariotis, who died in 1490, was a Greek scholar of the Renaissance era from Thessaloniki. He lectured at the University of Constantinople and became the first director of the Patriarchal Academy of Constantinople, also known as the Phanar Greek Orthodox College, which the Patriarch Gennadius founded as a continuation of the University of Constantinople after the city's fall to the Ottomans in 1453.
