Motsamai Molefe is a South African philosopher and one of the thinkers who has helped popularize African philosophy, specifically applied ethics within the context of Ubuntu philosophy, with his work concentrating on personhood, morality, bioethics and environmental ethics from an African perspective. He is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Fort Hare, having previously lectured in ethics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and served as senior lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, and he is a founding member and director of the African Political Theory Association.
