Otto Karl Wilhelm Neurath lived from 10 December 1882 to 22 December 1945 and was an Austrian-born philosopher of science, sociologist and political economist, called one of the neglected geniuses of the twentieth century; he invented the ISOTYPE method of pictorial statistics and innovated museum practice, and before fleeing Austria in 1934 was a prominent member of the Vienna Circle.
