The Lwów-Warsaw School was an interdisciplinary school, mainly of philosophy, logic and psychology, founded by Kazimierz Twardowski in 1895 in Lwów, then in Austria-Hungary and now Lviv in Ukraine. Though its members came from disciplines ranging from mathematics through logic to psychology, it is widely considered to have been a philosophical movement. It produced some of the leading logicians of the twentieth century, among them Jan Łukasiewicz, Stanisław Leśniewski and Alfred Tarski, and its members contributed not only to the techniques of logic but also to various domains of the philosophy of language.
